I feel like I have to do a lot of things to make my beauty supplies look the best or the most beautiful I can. I have been wanting to make my beauty supplies less stuffy, more fresh, and more colorful, but I find it rather difficult to actually pull it off.

You know, I’m so sick of this notion that I have to have a beautiful face and yet I have to fill out a form to get it. I can’t even get a decent lip balm that doesn’t smell like body spray. I’m sick of this.

Beauty supplies are one of those things that are really hard to give a thorough, unbiased evaluation of. I think it’s a bit unfair to say that because we make products that look good and feel good, we are not beauty products. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve felt like a fraud when I’ve thought of a product that I thought was great and then when I actually try and use it, I get disappointed.

It can be frustrating to see your products fail in the face of a consumer demand for something that you feel was a great idea. For example, lipstick. Even though I think lipstick is an important product on its own, it is a bit of a double-edged sword because lipstick is the opposite of a beauty product. If lipstick is a beauty product, why do we love it so much? Because it is an essential product in our beauty regime.
