The class starts off with a 10-15 min introduction and a warm-up followed by breathing in and out, deep breathing, relaxing, and walking. Then we go into a series of yoga poses and meditation techniques that are tailored to the individual. This includes walking while listening to a meditation track, and walking while counting out loud to help with the counting out part. Then we are guided through a series of exercises that are geared towards the girls.

Camp Creek is a fitness program aimed at girls ages 8-18. The program is designed to teach them different styles of fitness including yoga, dance, running, and basketball. The instructors are all trained and experienced yoga instructors, and are each very knowledgeable about their particular style of fitness.

There are a lot of poses, like the kneeling yoga pose, that will cause you to stretch your abdominal muscles, but as long as you are willing to learn from your partner, you can do a lot of stretching.

Even if you don’t have a partner, you can get an instructor to do a yoga class. Most of our instructors are great at doing the poses we are doing, and many of them are well-versed in yoga lore and philosophy. If you don’t feel comfortable doing these poses, you can always bring a friend.
